The exhibition "Icons of Urban Art" in the Chungmu Art Centre in Seoul is being extended: Due to popular demand, the MUCA is now showing the centrepieces of its collection in Seoul. until 2 March 2025 in South Korea.
The exhibition, which will open in 2020 at the MUCA celebrated its premiere in Munich, comprises outstanding works from the MUCA collection. The focus is on ten internationally recognised artists and pioneers of urban art: Banksy, Barry McGee, Invader, JR, Kaws, Os Gemeos, Richard Hambleton, Shepard Fairey, Swoon and Vhils.
Since summer 2023, the MUCA has been presenting "Icons of Urban Art" internationally for the first time. As part of the "MUCA goes Japan" tour the more than 80 iconic masterpieces from the MUCA collection were on display in the most renowned museums in Oita, Kyoto and Tokyo. The exhibition attracted over a quarter of a million visitors. The works then travelled on to South Korea and have been on display there since the beginning of October 2024.
