Foundation

After several years of continued success and private funding, the MUCA Foundation was established as a non-profit organisation in 2019.
was founded. A high-calibre board was appointed and fundraising was professionally expanded. The purpose of the foundation is to directly support the art and cultural activities of the MUCA Museum. These activities are exclusively charitable.

The main goal of the MUCA Foundation is primarily to expand and ensure a high-quality exhibition program with inspiring and fresh projects that add to the state-funded art scene in Munich. After building relations with other institutions and museums, we have expanded our remit to include collaborations with our international partners, furthering the exposure of the MUCA in new territories.

MUCA pays particular attention to art education in various forms. The exhibitions are accompanied by an extensive program with artist and expert discussions, readings, tours and workshops.

The MUCA has become an important "figurehead" for art in Munich. As such, the MUCA Foundation aims to strengthen Germany as a creative centre and continue to enter into alliances with cultural institutions, artists, the business community and municipal partners.
