From 2 October 2024 to 2 February 2025 shows the Chungmu Art Centre in Seoul the exhibition "Icons of Urban Art.
The exhibition, which celebrated its premiere at the MUCA in Munich in 2020includes outstanding works of the MUCA Collection. The focus is on ten internationally recognised artists and pioneers of urban art: Banksy, Barry McGee, Invader, JR, Kaws, Os Gemeos, Richard Hambleton, Shepard Fairey, Swoon and Vhils.
Since summer 2023, the MUCA has been presenting "Icons of Urban Art" internationally for the first time. As part of the "MUCA goes Japan" tour, the more than 80 iconic masterpieces from the MUCA collection were on display in the most renowned museums in Oita, Kyoto and Tokyo. The exhibition attracted over a quarter of a million visitors there. The works then travelled on to South Korea, where they can be admired until spring 2025.
