"Girl Without Balloon" at the MUCA Bunker

Just in time for Valentine's Day, we present the world-famous Banksy artwork in the MUCA Bunker of the shredded girl with a heart balloon.

From 14 February to 13 April 2025, "Girl Without Balloon" (fka "Love Is In The Bin") can be seen in the former air raid shelter right next to our MUCA main building.

The work known at the time as "Girl With Balloon" was spectacularly destroyed during Sotheby's prestigious evening auction in October 2018, when a shredder secretly installed in the frame cut more than half of the painting into strips. A huge media frenzy was triggered, amplified by Banksy's use of social media.

With his "art stunt", Banksy has not only successfully undermined the status quo of the auction world, but also the interpretation of his own artwork. The shredder artwork symbolises the idea that not only the parameters of art, but perhaps also the social structure of today or tomorrow can be redefined.

Hardly any other work has caused such a stir in the art world and beyond. So don't miss this chance to experience it live with us!
