From 2 October 2024 shows the Chungmu Art Centre in Seoul the exhibition "Icons of Urban Art„.
The exhibition, which will open in 2020 at the MUCA celebrated its premiere in Munich, comprises outstanding works from the MUCA collection. The focus is on ten internationally recognised artists and pioneers of urban art: Banksy, Barry McGee, Invader, JR, Kaws, Os Gemeos, Richard Hambleton, Shepard Fairey, Swoon and Vhils.
Since summer 2023, the MUCA has been presenting "Icons of Urban Art" internationally for the first time. As part of the "MUCA goes Japan" tour the more than 80 iconic masterpieces from the MUCA collection were on display in the most renowned museums in Oita, Kyoto and Tokyo. The exhibition attracted over a quarter of a million visitors there. Now the works have travelled on to South Korea and are there until 2 February 2025 to admire.
Advance ticket sales for Seoul have already begun. Early bird tickets can be purchased at a reduced price until 30 September 2024. These allow a visit from the start of the exhibition until 30 November 2024 at the latest.
